The Day I Registered My Company A Moment I Never Thought Would Come

23rd September will always stand out for me. It is the day I officially registered my company, and honestly, I never thought I would reach this moment.

The idea of having a company first came from my brother back in 2013 when I left Singapore and started freelancing while living in another country. At the time, it felt impossible. Too far away. I was just trying to get by, picking up projects here and there, never imagining that one day I would be running something of my own.

Yet here I am.

The feeling of putting my name on that registration is hard to describe.

It was not just paperwork.

It felt like a shift in identity.

From telling myself I was just freelancing to being able to say this is my company.

From doubting whether I could ever build something to realising that I already have.

I felt pride mixed with fear.

Pride, because this is mine.

Fear, because now the responsibility is also mine.

It was both surreal and grounding all at once.

Looking back, the journey has not been a straight line. I spent years as an employee, years experimenting with freelancing, and many times I questioned myself. But the truth is, every part of that path brought me here.

Each experience gave me the courage to finally take this step.

23rd September is more than just a date — it marks the moment I stopped waiting for permission and gave myself the chance to own my work, my vision, and my future. It reminded me that courage is not about being fearless but about stepping forward even when fear and doubt are still present. Registering my company was never just about creating a business; it was a declaration to myself that I am ready to build, to take ownership, and to carry both the weight and the rewards that come with it.

And that, to me, will always feel like a wow.
